NEED A LIFT?

The Bridge Bus, a parent-funded commuter schools bus which runs from Plymouth to Sagamore Beach and down to the Sturgis schools in Hyannis, has a few open seats this Fall. Cost is $1420, paid in full by July 30. Please fill out the Google doc below if you’d like to be added to the waitlist. As seats open, we fill them from the waitlist.

We have a group on Facebook called The Bridge Bus Parents Group – please request to join for more information. This is the main way we communicate.

The bus picks up at Exit 5 in Plymouth (Panera Bread) at 6:45am, then proceeds to the Park & Ride in Sagamore Beach and picks up at 7:10am, then proceeds to the Sturgis Schools. The bus is usually back in Sagamore Beach dropping off students at 4:10pm and in Plymouth around 4:30pm. The bus follows the school calendar and all half days, late starts, and early releases.

For more information, please call Kate Conway (508) 415-1295 or join the conversation on Facebook.

Don’t delay – we fill quickly!

Sturgis' Annual Appeal

Image of Annual Appeal flier and link to larger flier

We are thrilled to share that The William Sturgis Foundation has recently purchased 529 Main Street in Hyannis – a venue midway between our two campuses – to serve as a mixed use facility for Sturgis East and Sturgis West. Your donations to this year's Annual Appeal will upgrade 529 Main Street to provide more opportunities for Sturgis special events, performing arts, IB testing and assemblies. Please note that donors who give $529 or greater will have their names recognized as a 529 sponsor inside of our new venue.

But it's not the amount you give that matters, it’s your action that counts! Our aim is 100% donor participation to demonstrate a collective base of support and enhance our ability to gain further grant funding.

Donations can be made by check to: William Sturgis Friends of Education Foundation, PO Box 2012, Hyannis, MA 02601. Donations can also be made by credit card through the "Donate" button on the right side of this page.

Text/email reminder system

Remind.com allows us to send text reminders to you about events at Sturgis West. This system will not replace our current method of weekly emails home. It will be used for more specific messages such as "School Photo Day- Monday October 16". The system will not show actual phone numbers and can't be used for one-on-one communication. If you would like to receive such texts from the main office, please follow the links below. You will be asked to select phone (must be cell phone), smartphone app or email address to receive messages on.

The Washington Post once again recognizes Sturgis

The Washington Post recently announced the 2017 High School Challenge Index based on its review of 2016 data from high schools across the U.S. They ranked Sturgis the #3 public school in MA, #8 public school in the Northeast, and #132 in the U.S (across both public and private schools). Additionally, Sturgis is ranked #1 among MA public schools for the highest "percentage of graduates who passed at least one college-level test during their high school career" with 97%. Congratulations to Sturgis faculty and students for achieving this recognition of excellence!
